Police in Lyantonde District have arrested a 13-year-old casual worker, identified as Twikirize Clever, alias “Mad Hunter” over allegations of incitement to violence and promoting sectarianism through content posted on his TikTok account.
According to the police, the suspect, a resident of Kooki D Cell in Lyantonde District, was apprehended following intelligence-led investigations into his online activities.
Preliminary findings indicate that Twikirize had allegedly been sharing videos and messages containing vulgar and offensive language, which police described as inappropriate, especially considering his age.
The Police said their teams acted swiftly after gathering information about the alleged online content, leading to the suspect’s arrest from his hideout in Kooki C Cell, Lyantonde District.
Twikirize is currently being held in police custody as investigations into the matter continue.
Police spokesperson for Greater Masaka, Kasirye Twaha, confirmed the arrest and said further updates would be provided as the investigations progress.
The arrest comes amid growing concerns from authorities over the misuse of social media platforms to spread content that could fuel violence, hatred, or social divisions.
