The Director, Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Dr Sam Amadi, has stated that the failures of the 2023 general elections were human and not Artificial Intelligence, AI.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television on Sunday, Amadi said Artificial Intelligence cannot fix the human failures of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
His remark came as the electoral body considers using Artificial Intelligence to collate election results in the 2027 polls.
"AI can be useful for analytics, uploads and logistics, but it cannot replace physical oversight.
"INEC must also focus on its internal processes and ensure officials comply with the law.
"In my view, focusing on AI at this point is a cop-out because the failures of the 2023 election were caused by human procedures," Amadi said.
