2026 Ballon d’Or: Lamine Yamal names best two players in the world

Daily Post about 3 hours 1 mins read

Barcelona winger, Lamine Yamal, has claimed that himself and Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé are the best players in the world.

Speaking with Movistar, Yamal insisted that England winning the 2026 World Cup wouldn’t have changed that fact.

He said: “Even if England had won the World Cup, I’d still say that Mbappé and I are the two best players in the world.

“The Ballon d’Or isn’t about who wins, it’s for the best player. It’s different concept.”

Yamal added that when it comes to the Ballon d’Or award, he has an edge over Mbappé.

“Mbappé plays for Real Madrid and I play for Barça, so we have a direct rivalry… and I’ve beaten him in terms of trophies,” Yamal said.

“I think there could be Mbappé and me as best player in the world and this year, I believe I deserve it.”
