Voting for the 2026 Ballon d’Or has now officially closed.
A jury of selected journalists from the top 100 countries in the FIFA rankings have voted to decide the winner in the men’s category.
Some of the frontrunners include Lamine Yamal (Barcelona), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid) and Rodri (Barcelona).
For the women’s award, a jury of 50 journalists from the top 50 FIFA-ranked nations voted for the winner.
The players who are favourites to win this category include Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw of Manchester City and Alexia Putellas, who has left Barcelona for London City Lionesses.
This year, the Ballon d’Or event will be held in London, UK, on October 26.
It is expected to be one of the tightest voting results in the history of the awards.
