Flamingos head coach, Akeem Busari, believes his team can put their opening defeat behind them when they face Puerto Rico at the ongoing 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.
Nigeria began their campaign on a disappointing note, losing 2-1 to Poland in their opening fixture in Rabat last Saturday.
The Flamingos will now turn their attention to Tuesday's encounter against tournament debutants Puerto Rico at the Mohammed VI Stadium, Pitch 4, in Rabat.
With qualification for the Round of 16 at stake, the Flamingos will be desperate to secure all three points, and revive their hopes of progressing to the knockout stage.
Busari said they have analysed their defeat to Poland, and were determined to address the shortcomings ahead of their next outing.
"We have reviewed our first match against Poland, and I can say we have learnt our lessons. We will improve in every aspect of the game to avoid the mistakes that led to our first defeat," he told reporters.
The Flamingos coach also disclosed that his technical crew had studied Puerto Rico's opening match against North Korea as part of their preparations.
"We have also watched the North Korea versus Puerto Rico match, and I believe we now have a good understanding of how to approach our next match," Busari added.
The match will kick off at 7 p.m. Nigerian time on Tuesday.
