President of the Confederation of African Football, CAF, Patrice Motsepe, has congratulated Nigeria's Flamingos after they qualified for the final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Akeem Busari's side booked a spot in the final of the competition following a 3-1 victory over Brazil in the semi-final in Rabat on Wednesday night.

It's the first time an African country will be playing in the final of the competition.

Nigeria and Ghana have finished third in the competition in the past in 2022 and 2012.

Motsepe said the Flamingos have made Africa and CAF proud by achieving this historic milestone.

The South African will be in attendance when the Flamingos take on Japan in the final in Rabat on Sunday.
