Moses Aduku has admitted that his team is still a work in progress despite the dominant victory over New Caledonia.
The Falconets were at their devastating best, thrashing the tournament debutants 10-1 in their last group game in Lodz on Sunday.
The emphatic victory guaranteed Nigeria a place in the Round of 16 of the ongoing 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Nigeria finished second in Group F with four points from three games.
Aduku said it was important for him to work on his team’s lapses before their next game.
“For us the World Cup is just starting, we thank God for the 10 goals and for qualifying for the next round but like I said for us the World Cup is just starting,” Aduku said after the game against New Caledonia.
“We thank God but this one (win against New Caledonia) is done and dusted. We look forward to the next game. We had some lapses despite the win but we will go back and take care of them.”
The Falconets will battle England for a place in the quarter-finals on Thursday.
