Joceline Kourevi has expressed her pride after scoring in New Caledonia’s big defeat to Nigeria’s Falconets, DAILY POST reports.
The tournament debutants were thrashed 10-1 by Moses Aduku’s side in their last group game in Lodz on Sunday afternoon.
Kourevi scored New Caledonia’s only goal of the game.
The striker can’t hide her excitement after the Group F encounter.
“This is a source of great pride for the country. I’m very proud too, because it’s a first for me. It’s the first time we’ve been in the World Cup, and we’re a small country as well,” Kourevi was quoted by FIFA.com.
New Caledonia finished bottom of Group F with zero point from three games.
