Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

The first Round of 16 clash at the 2026 World Cup has been confirmed.

It will see co-hosts Canada square up against Morocco.

Jesse Marsch’s side eliminated another African team, South Africa, to qualify for this stage.

Stephen Eustaquio netted a late winner to send Bafana Bafana home.

Canada, who have never gone this far at the World Cup, will now take on Morocco looking to make even more history.

Morocco eliminated The Netherlands in their last-32 clash, after forcing the game to penalties.

The North Africans scored a late equalizer through Issa Diop to cancel out Cody Gakpo’s opener.

Quentin Timber, Crysencio Summerville and Justin Kluivert all missed for The Dutch, as they exited the competition.

Canada vs Morocco will be played on July 4. Kick-off is 6pm WAT.
