Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Former Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane is now set to replace Didier Deschamps as the head coach of the France national team.

This follows Les Bleus’ 2-0 defeat to Spain in the semi-final of the 2026 World Cup on Tuesday night.

Deschamps already confirmed that he would be leaving the role after the tournament.

His last game in charge, will now be the third-place play-off against England or Argentina this weekend.

Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, wrote on X: “OFFICIAL: Didier Deschamps’ cycle as France head coach comes to an end. It’s over.

“Last game for the 3rd and 4th place then his goodbye… and the start of Zinedine Zidane era.”
