ABUJA — The All Progressives Congress, APC, in the North Central has announced plans to hold a mega rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Saturday, October 10, in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The rally, organised under the auspices of the North Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network, will be hosted by Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, while the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is expected to headline the event.

The APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday after a high-level meeting of North Central APC stakeholders in Abuja.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; governors and deputy governors from the region; ministers; members of the National Assembly and other political office holders.

Yilwatda said the stakeholders had resolved to mobilise their respective political structures and supporters across the six North Central states and the Federal Capital Territory for the Lafia rally.

He described the planned gathering as the “mother of all rallies”, saying it would demonstrate the region’s support for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to him, the meeting also focused on strengthening coordination among party leaders and grassroots structures to ensure effective mobilisation across the region.

He said the stakeholders acknowledged Akume’s leadership in bringing together political leaders from the North Central and commended Governor Sule for agreeing to host the rally in Nasarawa State.

The stakeholders also reviewed arrangements for the participation of party leaders, women, youths, grassroots organisations and supporters from across the region, while reaffirming their commitment to a successful rally.

Yilwatda further expressed condolences to the families of victims of the recent Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Ondo State and those who died in the recent mining-related tragedy in Niger State.

He described the incidents as painful losses and sympathised with the affected families and communities.
