The Kano State governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Aminu Gwarzo, has claimed that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, is scared of losing Kano in the 2027 elections.
Speaking during an interview on Trust TV on Tuesday, Gwarzo said the APC knows it stands no chance of winning the state because of hunger, insecurity and bad governance.
"APC is terrified because they stand no chance of winning in Kano," Gwarzo declared.
According to him, Kano people are angry and tired of the APC government, both at the state and federal level, due to the high cost of living, hunger, insecurity, and failed promises.
He said the APC has failed woefully to address the yearnings of Nigerians and Kano people in particular, adding that the 2027 election will be a payback time.
"Kano people are wise. They know who is working for them and who is deceiving them. They have tested APC, and they have seen that it is all lies. Come 2027, they will vote them out without mercy," he said.
Gwarzo added that the NDC has become the new bride in Kano politics, with thousands of youths, women, traders, and aggrieved members from the APC and NNPP joining the party daily across the 44 local government areas.
He said the NDC is not just a party, but a movement of ordinary Kano people who want real change.
"We have structures in all 44 LGAs. The people are tired of the APC and NNPP drama. They want something new, something fresh, something that will put Kano first. That is what NDC represents," he boasted.
The NDC candidate further assured that if elected governor in 2027, he will prioritise youth employment, revive Kano industries, improve education, and ensure adequate security for all residents.
"We will take over Kano Government House in 2027 and rescue the state from years of deception and bad leadership. Kano will rise again," he added.
