The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Atiku Abubakar, has pledged to tackle Nigeria’s security challenges and restore fuel subsidy if elected president in the 2027 general elections.
Atiku made the pledge on Thursday during the party’s campaign rally in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.
He described the 2027 election as a referendum on President Bola Tinubu’s administration, urging Nigerians to decide whether to retain the current government or support an alternative.
The Director-General of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Austin Akobundu, said hunger, insecurity and unemployment would feature prominently in the party’s campaign.
The ADC National Chairman also urged Kebbi residents to support Atiku for president, Abubakar Malami for governor and other party candidates in the 2027 elections.
Atiku and his running mate also criticised projects being presented as achievements of the Tinubu administration, alleging that some had been inherited from the late President Muhammadu Buhari’s government.
The rally ended with the ADC National Chairman presenting the party’s flag to Malami as its governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
