The Deputy Director-General of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council, APC, PPC, Adams Oshiomhole, has challenged opposition parties to present a credible alternative to President Bola Tinubu.
Oshiomhole threw the challenge at the APC campaign rally in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, where he said the opposition has been making noise without showing Nigerians what they will do differently.
The Edo North Senator stated that the economic reforms of the Tinubu government were painful at first, but they are now beginning to yield positive results.
According to him, the unification of the exchange rate ended a discriminatory system that favoured only politically connected people, stating that before the reform, a few people got dollars with ease from the Central Bank while ordinary Nigerians suffered.
The former Edo State governor also pointed to the Federal Government's student loan scheme as proof that the government of President Tinubu is working for the poor.
He said thousands of students in the South-South have benefited from the scheme. He said no child should drop out of school because his father is poor.
"If you say Tinubu is not working, bring your alternative. Show us your plan. We have Tinubu, we have results. Parental financial circumstances should not determine access to education," Oshiomhole said.
He listed the ongoing coastal road construction as another major project that will open up the South-South and connect the whole country.
