2027: 'I worked for his removal as APC chairman'- Amaechi reveals reason for Oshiomhole attack

Daily Post about 4 hours 2 mins read

Former Rivers State governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has challenged Senator Adams Oshiomhole to make his educational certificates public following the latter's description of him as shallow and unreliable.

Amaechi, who is the African Democratic Congress, ADC, vice-presidential candidate, made the challenge while responding to Oshiomhole's recent criticism of his political conduct and credibility.

Speaking on Rapid TV, Amaechi attributed Oshiomhole's attacks to his role in the removal of the former Edo State governor as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

He said he led the team that worked for Oshiomhole's removal because of his alleged inability to manage the party's affairs.

Amaechi stated that Oshiomhole is pained because he, Amaechi, ensured that the former Edo State governor was "removed as Chairman of the party," adding that he led the team that kicked him out of the position.

Amaechi said that Oshiomhole was incapable of leading the ruling party.

Challenging the Edo Senator's academic qualifications, Amaechi listed the degrees he has acquired over the years at home and abroad, calling on Oshiomhole to "show his certificate.”

The disagreement followed Oshiomhole's criticism of Amaechi, whom he described as "shallow" and "unreliable," while accusing him of constantly attacking the APC and President Bola Tinubu.

Amaechi, however, recalled that Oshiomhole had supported his emergence as chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum, NGF, questioning why the senator now considered him intellectually inadequate.

In response, Oshiomhole questioned Amaechi's political credibility, recalling his previous criticism of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and his description of the ADC presidential primary that produced Atiku as fraudulent.

The senator alleged that Amaechi changed his position after Atiku approached him for political cooperation.

Oshiomhole also accused the former Rivers State governor of mismanaging public funds during his tenure and leaving behind abandoned projects.

Amaechi dismissed the allegations, questioning why Oshiomhole waited 12 years before raising such accusations against him.

He maintained that the allegations were false and challenged the senator to explain the delay in bringing them forward.
