2027: ‘If they go low, I will go underground’ – Aisha Yesufu on FCT Senate ambition

Daily Post 4 days 2 mins read

Human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu has vowed to contend with election riggers as she prepares to contest for the FCT Senate in the 2027 general elections.

Yesufu made this vow on Thursday while responding to questions in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

She expressed confidence in the FCT voters, stressing that they would not allow anyone impose a candidate on them.

“I will not do any illegality. I am not going to steal anybody’s vote, but if I am able to clinch my party ticket and we get to the general election, anyone who thinks they will rig the vote that the people have given me, will know that when they go low, I will go underground.

“Nobody has monopoly of anyhowness. I don’t think I look like someone who is a walk-over to anybody.

“One of the things I also know about the politics of Abuja is, when it comes to the general election, Abuja residents are very, very firm in their decision.

“And they choose who they want. Nobody has a right to come and impose anybody on Abuja people,” she said.
