Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Federal Capital Territory, Minister Nyesom Wike has vowed to ensure that President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, wins in both Rivers State and FCT.

Wike spoke on Wednesday during a media chat with some selected journalists in Abuja.

The Minister claimed that he is in charge of the political structure in Rivers State and the FCT, describing himself as the general commander.

“It is certain that I will deliver two states, FCT and Rivers for Tinubu. You don’t need a governor to be in charge, I’m the general commander of the political structure in Rivers.

“In Rivers, I’m in charge. So also the FCT”, the former governor of Rivers State said.

Wike attributed his dominance in Rivers and FCT to the loyalty of all major political parties and structures in the state.

His remarks come amid ongoing political realignments under the rainbow coalition in the oil-rich state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
