Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State on Thursday explained why the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, presidential candidate, Seyi Makinde picked a former Director General of the Department of State Services, DSS, Lawal Daura as his running mate.
Mohammed said Makinde picked Daura as his running mate due to the high level of insecurity in Nigeria.
Speaking during the APM town hall meeting in Akure, Ondo State, Mohammed said: "Makinde embodies a lot of hope and capacity, a tested and trusted person who has done it at the sub-national level and we have no problem bringing him forward as our presidential candidate."
The APM chieftain also declared that Makinde understands the problems of Nigeria.
He added: "He knows the problem of Nigeria, infrastructure and services which he embodies in terms of delivery and reducing the infrastructural gaps at the subnational level.
"He has taken along somebody (Lawal) that will help a substantial portion of the federation that are bombarded by insecurity, a security guru who is tested and trusted with knowledge in that field as his vice presidential candidate."
