The Special Adviser to the Katsina State Governor on Grassroots Mobilisation, Abdul-Aziz Maituraka, has accused opposition politicians of politicising security challenges in Katsina, insisting that the state’s security situation has improved considerably compared to previous years.

Maituraka stated this on Sunday while representing former Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari at the presentation of financial support to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina.

He acknowledged that while isolated attacks still occur in some communities across a few local government areas, the incidents do not suggest a total breakdown of law and order in the state.

The governor’s aide challenged opposition politicians who continue to portray Katsina as unsafe, asking them to demonstrate what assistance they have offered to victims of insecurity in their respective local government areas.

He commended the partnership between the Federal Government and the Katsina State Government, noting that sustained security interventions over the past three years have significantly improved peace and stability across the state.

Speaking on the 2027 general elections, Maituraka expressed confidence that the developmental projects executed by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’s administration would strengthen the APC’s electoral fortunes.

“I am optimistic that the APC will emerge victorious in the 2027 general elections. The people should not be deceived by opposition parties that continually accuse the APC-led government of insecurity and other challenges,” he said.

He further argued that the APC remains Nigeria’s dominant political platform, saying, “Anyone fighting the APC cannot tell their political story without mentioning the party, while those who leave the APC do so because of their own personal shortcomings.”

Maituraka urged the people of Katsina State to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda and other APC candidates in the 2027 polls.

He also announced that former Governor Masari had donated ₦160 million to APC members across Katsina State, explaining that the funds would be distributed to five party members in each ward to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and support party activities throughout the state.
