The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, Seyi Makinde, has unveiled his four-point 'Reset Agenda for Nigeria' ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Makinde unveiled the agenda on Thursday at the APM South-West Town Hall meeting in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

The Oyo State governor said the Reset Agenda is built around four pillars including economy, education, security and socio-political development.

According to him, the agenda was designed to answer the question of what must change for Nigerians to have a fair chance to build better lives.

Speaking on the economy, the presidential hopeful pledged that if elected, his administration would focus on creating conditions for people and businesses to produce, earn, invest and grow.

Makinde further stated that his administration would address structural costs that make living and doing business expensive, improve infrastructure and support productive sectors.

"We will focus on reducing the cost of living and doing business. Our economic reset will focus on creating conditions where people and businesses can produce and grow," he said.

The presidential candidate, while speaking on education, said Nigeria cannot build a competitive economy without investing in its people, adding that every child must be counted and must count in terms of access to quality and functional education.

On security, Makinde asserted that his government would combine intelligence gathering, social reorientation and both kinetic and non-kinetic measures to tackle insecurity, including militancy in oil-producing areas.

Also speaking on socio-political development, the Oyo State governor promised an inclusive, four-year transitional government of national unity that will promote institutional accountability and responsible leadership.

"You are supposed to tax wealth, you are not supposed to tax poverty. We increased IGR in Oyo State without increasing taxes on the people. That is what we will do at the national level," he said.
