The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, Seyi Makinde, has urged Nigerians to use the 2027 general elections to reject what he described as a failed political system that has left citizens battling hunger, insecurity and exclusion.
Makinde said the country needed a new direction and leadership that would be honest, sincere and committed to improving the lives of Nigerians.
He spoke during the flag-off of the APM’s 2027 presidential campaign in Bauchi State, where he called on voters who were dissatisfied with the state of the country to support his party’s proposed Reset Agenda.
“Hunger remains Nigeria’s biggest problem, and we must ask ourselves whether we are comfortable with the state of our economy, the level of insecurity and the way the country is being governed,” he said.
“If Nigerians are unhappy with the level of hunger, insecurity, lack of inclusion and dishonesty in government, then the only way forward is to reset the country,” he said.
Makinde also cautioned Nigerians against allowing financial inducements to influence their decisions during the elections.
He urged Nigerians to vote according to their conscience.
“Don’t bother at all when they bring money. It’s your money. Collect it, spend it, but vote your heart,” he told supporters.
