2027: No vacancy for ADC in Kebbi Govt House – Gov Idris’s aide

Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

The Special Adviser to the Kebbi State Governor on Politics, Kabiru Sani Giant, has ruled out the possibility of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, taking over the Kebbi Government House in the 2027 elections.

Giant, while speaking with journalists, said the ADC’s alleged destruction of All Progressives Congress, APC, billboards and vehicles during its presidential campaign in Kebbi showed that the opposition party could not be trusted with governance.

He alleged that ADC supporters vandalised government and APC property after the party’s campaign convoy entered Kebbi from Sokoto.

“We had to ask our supporters to mount guard on most property in Birnin Kebbi against their violent actions. We never instructed anyone to attack them. Some of the skirmishes reported in some areas were acts of self-defence,” he said.

Giant also accused the ADC governorship candidate of seeking the governorship to secure immunity from prosecution over alleged corruption charges filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

He described the candidate’s ambition as unrealistic, insisting that Kebbi residents would retain Governor Nasir Idris based on his administration’s record.

Giant further urged ADC supporters to join the APC, citing a recent court judgment which he said invalidated the candidacy of politicians from the David Mark-led faction of the ADC.
