The Ogun State chapter of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, has disowned a viral campaign poster declaring Biodun Collins Ogundipe, BCO, as its governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
The party said the poster was fake and warned scammers, confusionists and meddlesome interlopers to stay off.
The State Chairman of APM, Comrade Abayomi Sanyaolu gave the warning in a statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta on Monday morning.
Sanyaolu said the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has released the final list of candidates and Rotimi Babajide is the authentic governorship candidate of APM in the state.
He said, “INEC has released the final list of Ccandidates and TPL Rotimi Babajide has been officially announced and confirmed by INEC as the Governorship Candidate of APM in Ogun State, please disregard any contrary insinuation from any quarter.
“I am, therefore, using this medium to assure Ogun State electorate and our teeming supporters that there is no controversy about our governorship candidate.
"Feel free to support APM and vote in TPL Rotimi Babajide as the next Governor of Ogun State.”
Sanyaolu urged electorates and party supporters to disregard the poster and remain focused on delivering Babajide in 2027.
DAILY POST reports that a campaign flyer currently circulating on social media shows BCO in a blue suit with APM logo and the inscription: “Behold, A fresh start is fast approaching… VOTE BIODUN COLLINS OGUNDIPE FOR GOVERNOR, OGUN STATE. Finally BCO is on ballot.”
Recall that BCO is a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, and had been locked in a fierce battle with Jimi Ayo Lawal over the ADC governorship ticket in Ogun State.
