2027: Ondo APC names 228-member Campaign Council

The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted a 228-member Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections.

The council is to coordinate the party’s campaign and grassroots mobilisation for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as support the APC’s candidates in the elections.

The composition of the council was contained in a statement issued in Akure by the state APC Secretary, Hon. Alex Kalejaye.

Kalejaye said the council comprised political leaders, stakeholders, women and youth leaders, support groups and grassroots mobilisers drawn from across the state.

According to him, the council would work towards strengthening the party’s structures across the 18 local government areas and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He said the composition was also aimed at uniting APC stakeholders and supporters ahead of the 2027 elections.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is the chairman of the council, while Deputy Governor Olaide Adelami is Vice Chairman I.

The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, is Vice Chairman II, while Babatunde Kolawole, Taiwo Oyedele, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo and Ayodele Olawamide are Vice Chairmen III, IV, V and VI respectively.

Former Governor Olusegun Mimiko is listed as a member, while former Speaker Victor Adekanye Olabimtan is the Director-General. Sylvester Olumuyiwa Adu is Deputy Director-General.

The council also includes serving and former federal and state lawmakers, former deputy governors, technocrats, Senior Advocates of Nigeria, party elders, women and youth leaders and grassroots organisers.

Among those listed as members are Senators Jide Ipinsagba, Adeniyi Adegbonmire, Dayo Faduyile, Tayo Alasoadura, Remi Okunrinboye, Gbenga Ogunniya, Titus Olupitan, Robert Ajayi Boroffice, Yele Omogunwa and Boluwaji Kunlere.

Other members include former Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi; former Speaker of the House of Assembly, Bamidele Oleyelogun; former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Kayode Ajulo, SAN; Olusola Oke, SAN; Kola Olawoye, SAN; Olajide Ajana, SAN; Remi Olatubura, SAN; and Charles Titiloye, SAN.

The list also includes former commissioners, former lawmakers, local government leaders, professional groups and other party stakeholders from across Ondo State.

The APC state Secretary, Alex Kalejaye, is a member, while Ola Oguntimehin is the council’s Secretary.

The full 228-member list comprises six vice chairmen, a Director-General, a Deputy Director-General, a secretary and other members drawn from across the state.
