The chairman of the Kebbi All Progressives Congress, APC, Elders Forum, Sani Hukuma Zauro Zannan Gwandu, has urged politicians, particularly opposition members, to stop politics of hatred and personal attacks on political leaders ahead of the 2027 elections.
Zannan made the call while speaking with journalists in Zauro, criticising what he described as the use of abusive language by opposition parties to score political points.
He urged politicians to focus on presenting their policies and manifestos to voters rather than attacking their opponents.
“The manner of uncouth remarks on the APC-led government at federal and state levels by the opposition is unglamorous; it smacks of blackmail,” he said.
Zannan accused some opposition politicians of using blackmail and personal attacks to undermine the reputation of serving leaders.
His comments come amid growing exchanges between the ruling APC and the opposition African Democratic Congress, ADC, ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Kebbi State.
