Abuja.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He urged voters to scrutinise political promises and assess the current administration’s performance before deciding on the country’s political future.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to him, politicians seeking power might make extravagant promises, but voters should distinguish between campaign rhetoric and actual achievements.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">“Desperate people will make promises, they will promise you heaven and earth.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">“You should be very, very careful with people who will promise you heaven and earth just because they want to get in,” he said.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The minister urged Nigerians to compare the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration with those of previous governments before evaluating its performance.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said the administration had recorded progress in critical sectors during its three years in office, despite the country’s challenges.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">“With all sense of responsibility, I do not know of one government in the current political dispensation from 1999 to date that has delivered on all sectors like we have,” Ahmadu said.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He acknowledged public concerns over economic difficulties but maintained that the administration’s policies were designed to address the country’s challenges.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to him, government spending should prioritise lasting solutions to national problems rather than distributing money without addressing their underlying causes.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ahmadu appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience, stressing that the administration did not deliberately intend to inflict hardship on citizens.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">“Mr. President has continuously appealed to Nigerians to be patient with this government.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">“We cannot come in to deliberately unleash mayhem and problems, hardship to Nigerians, certainly not.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">“Whatever measures this government has taken so far, believe me, it is in the general interest of all Nigerians,” he said.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that government officials were equally concerned about Nigerians’ welfare, noting that they also had families and relations affected by the country’s challenges.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ahmadu claimed that the Tinubu administration had delivered more critical infrastructure, particularly roads and bridges, than previous governments combined since independence.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said the projects were spread across the country’s regions, adding that infrastructure development remained one of the administration’s notable achievements.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The minister also highlighted the Nigerian He urged voters to protect their voting rights ahead of next year’s elections.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Boyi alleged that some individuals were going from house to house, particularly targeting women, with promises of empowerment and other forms of assistance in exchange for their voter cards. He urged residents not to surrender their voting rights for promises of support that might never materialise.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“I call on the people to stop selling their rights because your voter card is your right. The PVC is an important instrument for citizens to participate in elections and hold political leaders accountable,” the chairman advised.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Boyi stressed that the council’s message to the people was that they should come out en masse to collect their PVCs, describing them as the only weapon citizens should acquire to defend themselves against bad intensify for the 2027 elections, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) presidential candidate Seyi Makinde has promised to serve a single four-year term if he becomes Nigeria’s leader next year. \u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>\u003Cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Oyo State governor spoke at an APM town hall meeting in Yola, Adamawa State, on Saturday and promised to
