Daily Post about 1 hour 2 mins read

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Thursday participated in the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship primary in Borno State, which produced Engr. Mustapha Gubio as the party’s candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

The primary was held in Maiduguri with the participation of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, party leaders, delegates and stakeholders across the state.

Gubio emerged unopposed as the APC governorship candidate during the exercise.

Speaking at the event, Shettima urged party members to remain united and work towards the success of the APC in the 2027 elections.

He called on party faithful to set aside differences and support the party’s candidates ahead of the polls.

Governor Zulum, in his remarks, thanked party members and stakeholders for their participation in the primary process.

Speaking after emerging as the party’s candidate, Gubio pledged to continue development efforts across the state if elected governor in 2027.

He also promised to focus on governance and development across critical sectors.

Among those present at the primary were APC Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Bukar Dalori; Senators M.T. Monguno and Kaka Shehu Lawan; members of the National Assembly; members of the Borno State House of Assembly; commissioners and other APC stakeholders.
