A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Dino Melaye, has insisted that President Bola Tinubu must be defeated in the 2027 general elections.
Melaye made this known in a post on his verified X handle on Wednesday, noting that coalition talks is ongoing to unseat President Tinubu.
Recall that a coalition of opposition political parties has stepped up efforts to forge a common front against the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The coalition under the aegis of G100, which is spearheading the initiative, said it was planning a National Opposition Summit to develop a coordinated strategy for the opposition ahead of the polls.
The group had proposed a Government of National Competence anchored on a single four-year transition term, as part of a broader framework for cooperation among Nigeria’s opposition political parties.
DAILY POST reports that the ruling APC took over power from the then incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 2015.
Melaye said, “Coalition talk is on. Tinubu must go.”
