Ahead of the 2027 presidential election, a political support group of President Bola Tinubu, the Hope Alive Initiative HAI, has unveiled a multi-platform grassroots campaign to canvas support for the re-election of the president.

The movement is hitting the ground running despite the ruling All Progressives Congress APC indicating that it is still finalizing its structures and comprehensive nationwide campaign plan.
Clarifying the party’s stance on the legal window set by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, had noted that August 19 marks the legal commencement of campaigns rather than a mandatory mandate to launch rallies immediately.
“August 19 is the date fixed by INEC for all parties to start the presidential and National Assembly campaign. There is no law that we must start on that day. The only thing is, no political party is permitted to start ahead of the day,” Morka stated.
According to him, the party is coming up with a comprehensive and well-thought-out nationwide campaign schedule after necessary consultations with critical stakeholders and affected candidates.
“There is no law that says we must start on Wednesday,” Morka declared.
However, taking advantage of the official opening of the campaign window, HAI announced in a statement signed by its Director of Press and Communications, Ernest Omoarelojie, that its grassroots drive will combine street-level mobilization with traditional and digital media platforms.
The organization stated that its endorsement of President Tinubu’s second-term bid is rooted in the administration’s bold structural reforms, which it noted are establishing the groundwork for Nigeria’s long-term economic growth.
HAI cited key policy interventions, including petroleum sector reforms that ended fuel scarcity, greater foreign exchange market stability, increased foreign reserves, local government autonomy, police reforms, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), tax reforms, and extensive road infrastructure projects across the country and the Federal Capital Territory.
“While these reforms have come with short-term challenges, we believe they are difficult but necessary steps towards a more sustainable, prosperous and better governed Nigeria,” HAI stated.
The group outlined four major components of its initial roll-out, starting on August 19 with the deployment of approximately 40 colorfully dressed human mascots across strategic, high-traffic locations in Abuja to establish a strong visual presence.
Additionally, HAI is launching a city-wide SMS mobilization campaign to send direct messages to Abuja residents, complemented by an original campaign jingle.
To deepen engagement at the grassroots, the group said it will also use the radio to break down government policies, initiatives and achievements into simple, accessible content for the general public.
According to the organization, the activation marks the start of an intensive, sustained drive aimed at building momentum from the outset of the 2027 electoral cycle.
