ABUJA – Former National Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, has said Senator Abdul’Aziz Abubakar Yari has the political structure, experience and nationwide network to deliver victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2027 presidential election.

Shinkafi argued that the campaign needs someone who understands the grassroots, party machinery and the people behind the numbers, and he believes Yari fits that bill.

In a statement signed by Shinkafi on Saturday, the former APGA national secretary and patron of the 2023 Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council commended Tinubu for appointing Yari as Director-General of the 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, describing him as a politician of proven loyalty, experience and political structure.

“This appointment clearly demonstrates his unwavering commitment to political inclusivity and competence,” Shinkafi said.

He said Yari’s political career, which began at the grassroots in Zamfara, had taken him through party leadership, the House of Representatives, the governorship of Zamfara State and, currently, the Senate.

Shinkafi recalled that Yari, as chairman of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, in Zamfara, led the 2003 campaign that secured the re-election of former governor Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura, before later becoming the party’s National Treasurer.

“His political journey is an inspiring story of steady growth from the grassroots to the national stage,” he said.

According to Shinkafi, Yari’s experience goes beyond electoral campaigns; he was deeply involved in the formation of the APC and, as Zamfara governor, championed the party’s establishment in the state while still in opposition.

He said Yari’s familiarity with party structures, traditional institutions, women and youth groups, and his political relationships across the country would be crucial to the 2027 campaign.

“This is the exact organisational machinery that translates political goodwill into actual electoral victory,” Shinkafi said.

The Zamfara North senatorial aspirant urged APC members and stakeholders to give the campaign council full cooperation, expressing confidence that Yari would provide the disciplined, focused leadership required to secure a second term for Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

“We have no doubt that this Campaign Council will be disciplined, laser-focused, and will deliver a historic victory to the Tinubu/Shettima ticket and the APC,” Shinkafi said.
