The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, in Zamfara State has urged its members and supporters to remain calm following reports that some candidates’ names were missing from the lists released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The state chairman, Alhaji Surajo Garba Maikatako, made the appeal in a statement issued in Gusau on Monday.
Maikatako urged party members to remain united, obey the law and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Our collective focus and singular priority is to win the 2027 general elections,” he said.
He urged supporters to pursue the party’s political ambitions peacefully, saying the contest against the state government should be through the ballot rather than violence.
“The only battle we must wage is to defeat this incompetent and visionless administration with votes, not with violence or thuggery,” he said.
