2027: Zulum presents Borno APC governorship candidate to Tinubu

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, has formally presented the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate for the state, Engr. Mustapha Gubio, to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

This was disclosed by the Spokesperson and Media Adviser to the Borno State Governor, Dauda Iliya, via his X handle.

During the visit, Governor Zulum commended President Tinubu’s commitment to peace, stability, and reconstruction efforts in the Northeast, noting that his leadership has strengthened the cohesion of the APC and improved governance in the region.

Gubio, who emerged unopposed as the APC governorship candidate during the party’s primary election, was accompanied to the meeting by a member of the House of Representatives, Engr. Bukar Talba.

The APC governorship primary, held in Maiduguri on Thursday, produced Gubio as the party’s flagbearer for the 2027 Borno State governorship election.

The exercise was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Governor Zulum, party leaders, delegates, and stakeholders across the state.

Party stakeholders described Gubio’s emergence as a consensus decision, reflecting unity within the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
