38 cargo vessels to berth at Lagos ports- NPA

The Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, has announced that 38 vessels laden with petroleum products, food supplies and other commodities are expected to arrive at major ports in Lagos this week.

The authority disclosed this in its Daily Shipping Position report, stating that the vessels are scheduled to arrive at the Apapa Port, Tincan Island Port and the Lekki Deep Sea Port between June 8 and June 13.

According to the NPA, 10 of the incoming vessels are carrying containerised cargo, while the remaining 28 ships are transporting a variety of products, including frozen fish, bulk urea, premium motor spirit (petrol), condensate, gas oil, aviation fuel, bulk wheat, diesel, crude oil and general cargo.

The report further indicated that nine vessels and tanker ships have already arrived at the ports and are awaiting berth allocation. The ships are carrying containers, gasoline, petrol, bulk fertiliser, diesel and crude oil.

The authority also revealed that cargo operations are currently ongoing at the three ports, with 21 vessels discharging different commodities.

The products being offloaded include bulk urea, containers, petrol, fertiliser, frozen fish, gypsum, sugar, wheat and bulk gas at the Lekki Deep Sea Port, Apapa Port and Tincan Island Port.
