Veteran Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has announced the death of his newborn baby, barely a day after sharing news of her birth.
Mr Doyle announced the news in a Facebook post on Sunday, revealing that his daughter, Omayinuwa Mayen Harriet Doyle, died on Saturday at about 4:15 p.m., less than 30 hours after she was born.
“Omayinuwa visited us briefly at about 10:40 a.m. on Friday 10th April and returned to heaven on Saturday 11th of April at about 4:15 pm,” Mr Doyle stated. “Her stay was short but it brought great joy with it. We would have wished for a longer stay, but alas heaven thought otherwise.”
He added, “This much we know though, God still rules in the affairs of men. Our faith in the goodness of God remains resolute regardless. Sibe’ sibe’ Oluwa n’be’. It is well with our soul.”
In the earlier post shared on Saturday, Mr Doyle said, “Mother and child are doing well and daddy is overwhelmed with joy and gratitude to God Almighty.”
The 65-year-old actor is currently married to Aishat Funmilayo, a caterer, who is his third wife.
His first wife, Rosemond, died in 1999. Mr Doyle had a second marriage with actress Iretiola Doyle which ended in divorce.
Mr Doyle and his wife publicly announced their marriage in 2025, although she had earlier shared a court wedding photo in 2022.
