Leading business-to-business exhibition organiser, dmg events, has concluded plans to bring together key players in West Africa’s warehousing and logistics industry as expanding logistics parks, industrial hubs and free trade zones continue to reshape the region’s supply chain industry.
According to Mordor Intelligence, the West African freight and logistics market is estimated at $27.58 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow to $37.17 billion by 2030.
In Nigeria, the market is expected to reach $11.66 billion in 2026 before expanding to $15.97 billion by 2031, representing a compound annual growth rate, CAGR, of 6.49 per cent.
Experts attribute the projected growth to ongoing infrastructure development, the rapid expansion of e-commerce and increased cargo-handling capacity at the Lekki Deep Sea Port and Onne Port.
The implementation of regional trade initiatives, including the African Continental Free Trade Area, AfCFTA, has also accelerated cross-border trade, boosting the movement of goods and increasing demand for logistics services across West Africa.
Against this backdrop, dmg events said evolving supply chains are driving investment in warehousing infrastructure, distribution networks and logistics technologies, creating opportunities for innovation and collaboration across the region.
The company said the inaugural West Africa Warehousing & Logistics Expo, scheduled for April 6-8, 2027, will provide a platform for industry stakeholders to explore emerging technologies, strengthen partnerships and address the growing demand for efficient logistics and warehousing solutions.
Commenting ahead of the programme, President of dmg events, Matt Denton, said Nigeria was the ideal location to host the exhibition because of the rapid transformation taking place in its logistics sector.
He said: “Nigeria is a natural home for the West Africa Warehousing & Logistics Expo. Driven by the rapid expansion of e-commerce, industrial development and increasingly sophisticated supply chains, Nigeria’s logistics sector reflects the wider transformation taking place across West Africa.
“Building on our experience delivering warehousing and logistics events, including the Saudi Warehousing & Logistics Expo, we are bringing established industry expertise and connections to create opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange and growth across Africa.”
