AFCON 2027 qualifier: Super Eagles fight back to defeat Madagascar

Nigeria recovered from conceding an early goal to defeat Madagascar 2-1 in their first 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture.

The Super Eagles went behind to a **( header, to the shock of fans inside the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

But two debutants ensured that Eric Chelle’s men took maximum points.

George Ihenikane and Moses Usor scored either side of half time to win the game for the three-time African champions.

Nigeria will now take on Guinea-Bissau in the next fixture on Tuesday.
