AFCON 2027 qualifiers: Chelle rates Stanley Nwabali’s performance after Madagascar win

Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle, has praised goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali’s performance after Nigeria defeated Madagascar 2-1 in Friday’s Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, qualifier.

Chelle’s men defeated Madagascar in Uyo, thanks to goals from George Ilenikhena and Moses Usor.

Speaking to reporters during his post-match interview, Chelle praised Nwabali for making a crucial save in the second half of the encounter, adding that the goalkeeper did well.

“Nwabali did well because they had a chance to score a goal, but Nwabali at this moment practically was very good,” Chelle said.

Nwabali will hope to retain his place in goal when Nigeria face Guinea-Bissau in their next match on Tuesday.
