Udinese of Italy goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, has finally arrived Super Eagles base in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
Okoye, according to Super Eagles media officer, Promise Efoghe, landed in Uyo on Friday morning.
The 25-year-old’s arrival means head coach Éric Chelle now has all the 24 invited players at his disposal.
The former Watford shot stopper’s absence had generated questions ahead of the qualifiers.
Head coach Éric Chelle defended Okoye during his interaction with the media on Thursday, claiming he granted him permission to arrive camp late.
Okoye is now expected to sit out Friday’s (today) matchday one encounter against the Barea of Madagascar slated for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
