George Ilenikhena is excited about the opportunity to be part of the Super Eagles and is looking forward to making his maiden appearance for the three-time African champions.
Ilenikhena received his first invitation from head coach Éric Chelle for Nigeria’s upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
The Al-Ittihad striker stated that it is an honour to be part of the national team at this stage of his career.
“It is an honour to be here. I am proud and happy to be part of this big national team, and for me, it’s a big deal,” he said at a media parley in Uyo.
“I am just 20 years old, and I am here with big and already accomplished players.
“The team spirit is very good. I just arrived yesterday (Tuesday), and I can see that everyone is together like a big family, and that’s very good.”
