Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has hit back at his critics after he was included in the squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
On Tuesday, Nwabali posted a video on his Instagram Story, showing his penalty saves against Egypt at the 2025 AFCON.
The Chippa United stopper saved efforts from Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush, as Nigeria went on to claim bronza via a penalty shoot-out.
He captioned the video: “I’m back, it’s time to keep crying.”
Nwabali’s fortunes with the national team, however, changed after he abruptly left Chippa United in February 2026.
However, he was unable to find a new club and his lack of competitive football meant he lost his spot under Eric Chelle.
Chelle turned to Udinese’s Maduka, while Arthur Okonkwo also emerged as a contender after receiving his first senior Nigeria call-up following FIFA approval of his change of international allegiance.
