Madagascar head coach, Corentin Martins, says his team is battle ready for their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
The Barea will be guests of the Super Eagles in a matchday one encounter at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Friday.
The Super Eagles are overwhelming favourites to secure maximum points from the game, going by their pedigree.
Madagascar have recorded one win from five outings against Nigeria.
The Barea’s only victory came in a group-stage match at the AFCON 2019 finals in Egypt, the last meeting between the two teams.
Ahead of tonight’s Group L encounter, Martins declared that his team is motivated to get a favourable result.
“There’s a lot of motivation. We’re playing against a big African nation, with good players. We’ve prepared well, trying to recover from our long trip. We’re motivated to play well,” Martins told a press conference in Uyo on Thursday.
