Arthur Okonkwo says the Super Eagles are firmly focused on securing maximum points from their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Madagascar, DAILY POST.
Eric Chelle’s side will entertain the Barea of Madagascar in a matchday one encounter at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Friday.
The Super Eagles conceded four times in their last two games against Poland and Portugal.
Okonkwo insisted that getting a win against Madagascar is more important than keeping a clean sheet.
The most important thing is us winning, more than the clean sheet. Of course it would be nice to have a clean sheet as well but the team and everyone’s mind is focused on defeating the two teams, which gives us a good place in our group. So I am not too worried about clean sheets,” the shot stopper told TVC.
Okonkwo will be looking to make his competitive debut for the Super Eagles against the Barea.
