Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has named his starting XI for Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying clash against Madagascar, with Stanley Nwabali starting in goal.
Nwabali is protected by a back four of Ola Aina, Bruno Onyemaechi, Semi Ajayi and Calvin Bassey, while Wilfred Ndidi is also included in the starting lineup.
Ndidi also makes his 80th appearance for the Super Eagles
Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze and Alex Iwobi are among the attacking and midfield options selected by Chelle, with George Ilenikhena and Adams also named in the starting XI.
The selection sees Chelle hand Ilenikhena a starting role as Nigeria look to begin their qualifying campaign with a positive result.
Nigeria’s bench includes Tolu Arokodare, Taiwo Awoniyi, Benjamin Fredrick, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Nwafor Nwaiwu, Maduka Okoye, Fernandez, Isaac, Moses Simon, Frank Onyeka and Raphael Onyedika.

The Super Eagles go into the encounter under pressure to make a strong start, with Chelle stressing before the match that the opening game would be important in setting the momentum for the campaign.
The coach also acknowledged Madagascar’s threat, recalling the island nation’s victory over Nigeria at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
