After 2-1 Defeat, Iran Coach Admits Super Eagles’ Superiority

InformationNG March 28, 2026 1 mins read

Iran head coach Amir Ghalenoei admitted that the Super Eagles were too strong for his side in Friday’s international friendly.

Team Melli fell 2-1 to Éric Chelle’s men in Antalya, Turkey.

Moses Simon, and Akor Adams were on target for the Super Eagles in the game.

Olympiacos Mehdi Taremi scored Iran’s only goal in the second half.

Ghalenoei admitted that the game will put his side in proper shape ahead of the World Cup.

“I think this was a very useful preparation game, especially since we were able to implement Plan B in defence against a strong and physical team like Nigeria,” Ghalenoei was quoted by Tasnim News Agency.

Iran will face Costa Rica in their next friendly on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles will do battle with Jordan same day.
