Air strike neutralises 16 suspected terrorists in Borno

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

A military air strike has reportedly neutralised about 16 suspected terrorists following intelligence on their movements in Pulka, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

The operation was contained in a post shared on X on Sunday by security analyst, Zagazola Makama.

According to the report, the strike was carried out at about 12:09 a.m. on October 24 after the 26 Task Force Brigade received intelligence about suspected terrorist activities in the area.

The report said the aircraft tracked about 40 suspected terrorists moving through the area before they stopped in separate groups near a water body.

“The pause reportedly provided an opportunity for the military to launch a precision strike against a group of about 20 suspected terrorists,” Makama wrote.

According to Makama, a post-strike assessment indicated that about 16 of them were neutralised.

The operation forms part of ongoing military efforts to track suspected terrorist groups and restrict their movements in Gwoza and other parts of Borno State.
