Gideon Arinze in Enugu
The Deputy Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Enugu State Chapter, Ugo-Ferdinand Ukwueze, has commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Governor Peter Mbah as his campaign coordinator for the Southeast ahead of the 2027 general election.
Ukwueze, who is also the Chairman of Igboeze South Local Government Area, said yesterday in Enugu that Mbah had the capacity to deliver the entire Southeast to Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said Mbah had demonstrated a rare ability to translate political vision into practical development, adding that his administration had restored confidence in the ability of government to deliver meaningful results.
According to him, Mbah’s strong connection with the grassroots has earned him respect across communities, local governments and political circles in the Southeast.
“Mbah is a political leader with the courage, exposure and administrative competence required to effectively mobilise the Southeast for President Tinubu,” Ukwueze said.
Speaking further, he said “Mbah understands the aspirations of the people and possesses the political reach to engage stakeholders across party structures, traditional institutions, community leadership and the wider electorate,”.
Ukwueze said the President’s confidence in Mbah reflected the governor’s growing influence and ability to build bridges among diverse interests.
