“Amaechi Looted Rivers’ Treasury To Buy Houses For Young Girls; Let Him Challenge My Claim” — FCT Minister Wike

Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike has criticised ADC vice presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi over his comments about President Bola Tinubu and those supporting his re-election, accusing the former Rivers State governor of hypocrisy and mismanaging public funds.

Speaking on the news, Wike said: “Because I have said I am going to vote for Tinubu, and he has said all those who want to vote for him are thieves, so I am a thief? That’s what he has said.

“But who can be a bigger thief than Amaechi? This is someone who stood on the treasury of a state and looted it and wasted it, buying houses for young girls all over the place. Let him come and challenge me if it is not correct.”

Wike also questioned the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over its political choices, saying:

“If you want someone to turn Nigeria good, then it’s unfortunate for ADC to think that a lunatic can. A lunatic cannot decide the affairs of this country. A known armed robber cannot. Amaechi has looted a treasury. This is a known thief, and Nigerians are keeping quiet.”

He further alleged that Amaechi could not account for $39 million reportedly spent on a project that did not exist and accused him of selling a state gas company for $380 million.

Wike warned that Amaechi’s remarks could affect his political campaigns, saying: “If you continue on this line, it will be difficult for you to campaign in Rivers State. We will not take that. We will not.”

He also condemned the labelling of Tinubu’s supporters as thieves and presidential contenders as madmen, asking: “Who does that in this world?”
