Anambra Govt never gave me pure water sachet, only insults since leaving office – Peter Obi

Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said the Anambra State government has never given him anything since leaving office 13 years ago.

Obi said the state government has been insulting and levelling accusations against him instead.

The NDC presidential candidate first became governor of Anambra State on March 17, 2006.

He was impeached in November 2006, with Virginia Etiaba serving briefly in his place.

On February 9, 2007, Obi returned to the office after his impeachment was overturned.

His tenure was briefly interrupted again later that year by Andy Uba’s short-lived administration before a court ruling restored him in June 2007 to complete his full term.

In 2010, Obi won reelection for a second term as governor and on March 17, 2014 he handed over to Willie Obiano at the end of his tenure.

Lately, the Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration had accused Obi of leaving debts behind. But the NDC presidential candidate had denied the claims.

In a viral video, Obi said Soludo’s administration has refused to give him peace.

He said: “The least I can get is a little bit of support in what I’m doing, I left Anambra State 13 years as governor without Anambra State buying me a sachet of pure water, not even sending me a Christmas card, yet I have never had peace

“Even for saving money that I would have stolen, at least anybody would not say that I did not save $150 million but the only thank you that I get from it has been insults and accusations.”
