APC stakeholders adopt ex-Katsina commissioner as consensus Reps candidate

Daily Post about 1 hour 2 mins read

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the Kankara/Faskari/Sabuwa Federal Constituency of Katsina State have adopted former Commissioner for Environment, Hamza Sule Faskari, as the party’s consensus candidate for the House of Representatives seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was made during a stakeholders’ rally held in Kankara on Saturday, where party leaders and members affirmed the decision of the constituency consensus committee.

Party stakeholders said the decision reflected the collective position of party members across the 31 wards in the three local government areas making up the constituency.

According to them, the consensus arrangement followed consultations among party leaders, ward representatives, and other stakeholders.

They noted that factors considered in the selection included Faskari’s political experience, popularity, acceptability, and record of public service.

Speaking at the event, the Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Faruk Lawal Jobe, commended the consensus committee chaired by former Deputy Governor, Tukur Ahmad Jikamshi, for conducting what he described as a thorough process.

Jobe urged other aspirants who were not selected to accept the outcome in good faith and work for the success of the party in the general elections.

In his acceptance speech, Faskari thanked party leaders and stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him and called for unity among APC members.

He also urged eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the elections.
