APC suspends member over alleged participation in SDP rally in Karu

Daily Post about 1 hour 2 mins read

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Panda Karwe Ward in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, has suspended one of its members, Abdullahi Usman Bomboi of Koso, over alleged involvement in activities considered contrary to the party’s interests.

The suspension was communicated in a letter dated August 13, 2026, addressed to Bomboi and titled “Letter of Suspension.”

According to the letter, the suspension is scheduled to take effect from August 15, 2026, following allegations that Bomboi participated in a campaign rally and a visit by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Karu on August 12.

The ward described the alleged participation as an “anti-party activity” and an act of disrespect toward the APC leadership.

The letter, signed on behalf of the ward, stated that Bomboi’s actions amounted to activities inconsistent with his membership of the APC and warranted disciplinary action.

Copies of the suspension notice were addressed to the APC Local Government Party Chairman, Zonal Party Chairman, State Party Chairman and Local Government Chairman.

The development comes amid heightened political activities in Nasarawa State, with political parties and their supporters increasingly engaging in campaigns and mobilisation ahead of forthcoming political contests.

The suspension notice, however, did not state whether Bomboi had been given an opportunity to respond to the allegation or whether further disciplinary proceedings would follow at the local government, zonal or state levels.
